A designated CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® and Certified Kingdom Advisor® (CKA®), Eric holds his Series 65 securities registration as well as his life & health insurance license. He joined True North Wealth Partners in December 2021 and spearheads its separate insurance firm, True North Insurance Partners.
“As an independent insurance agent, I am free to shop across multiple carriers to find annuity and insurance solutions that fit each client’s unique plan—instead of forcing clients into one-size-fits-all products. My goal is to create strategies that provide security for life’s essentials while freeing the rest of our clients’ wealth to grow toward future goals and adventures,” Eric says. “As an IAR, independent adviser representative, I can also develop comprehensive plans by analyzing clients’ current financial situations and offering sound strategies to help maximize wealth building, create income for life, and transfer a tax-advantaged legacy to heirs.”
Before joining True North Wealth Partners, Eric was with Fisher Wealth Management. He became a partner of the firm in 2015 and bought the other partner’s remaining interests in 2017. In 2018, the firm started doing business as Rockpointe Financial. Prior to his career as a financial planner, Eric served as a pastor for 12 years, and he holds an MDiv from Ashland Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Arts in Bible from Malone University.
While a pastor, Eric developed a heart for helping people steward their resources and live with purpose, and that same calling shapes the way he guides clients today—helping align their wealth with their values. He draws upon both professional expertise and a background in pastoral ministry to bring a unique blend of wisdom, creativity, and care to each relationship.
Eric completed his CFP® studies through the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business. To obtain a CFP® designation, a candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher (in any discipline) from an accredited college or university, complete coursework on financial planning through a CFP Board Registered Program, pass the two-day exam which lasts for three hours each day, and complete either 6,000 hours of professional experience related to the financial planning process or 4,000 hours of apprenticeship experience that meets additional requirements.
Eric and his wife live in Dublin, Ohio, with their youngest son still at home, while their two older children are pursuing education, and his oldest has started a family of her own. Now a proud grandpa and father-in-law, Eric treasures time with his growing family. Outside of work and family, he enjoys coaching soccer, backpacking, playing music, building things, and serving in various capacities at Vista Community Church.
